Ballistics.Systems Has Officially Launched

Today marks a turning point. After weeks of design, development, testing, refinement, and infrastructure work, Ballistics.Systems is officially live — and I couldn’t be more excited to share what’s now available and where this project is headed.

This platform began with a simple idea:
build modern, precision-engineered tools for shooters, reloaders, and long-range enthusiasts who want trustworthy, data-driven results.

No gimmicks. No black-box calculators. Just clarity, accuracy, and performance.

Now that the site is open to the public, I want to walk through what’s live today, the philosophy behind the platform, and what’s coming next.

A Modern Foundation for Serious Shooters

Ballistics.Systems is built from the ground up as a fast, transparent, engineering-centric platform. Every component — from the interface to the database layer — is designed with three goals in mind:

  • Accuracy: mathematical precision driven by real formulas and validated reference data
  • Transparency: no mystery numbers, no hidden assumptions — the system tells you exactly how results are calculated
  • Performance: fast page loads, real caching, and a modern architecture capable of handling large, complex calculations

Putting this into practice starts with the very first tool available today.

The Twist Rate & Stability Calculator

The premier tool available at launch is the Twist Rate & Stability Calculator, built around the Miller Stability formula.

This tool was engineered to provide:

  • Real Sg stability values
  • Required twist rate calculations
  • Clear classification results (stable, marginal, unstable)
  • Environmental adjustments for temperature, pressure, and altitude
  • A user-friendly interface that makes the math approachable without oversimplifying it

What sets this calculator apart isn’t just the formula — it’s the way the platform handles it:

  • All calculations are done server-side with optimized .NET 10 code
  • Caching reduces redundant computations
  • Validation prevents garbage inputs
  • The interface cleanly separates ballistic inputs, environmental conditions, and performance data

This is the first of many tools, but it’s already a strong introduction to what the platform can do.

Built for Speed and Reliability

Part of launching Ballistics.Systems was ensuring that the underlying infrastructure could support long-term growth.

Behind the scenes, the platform now runs on:

  • Containerized microservices
  • Optimized NGINX reverse proxy configuration
  • Cloudflare/DNS integration
  • A hardened environment with SSL, caching, and tuned routing

The result is a site that loads instantly and handles calculations smoothly — even under load.

This foundation allows the platform to grow into a full suite of precision-shooting tools without compromising reliability.

The Blog: Transparency, Education, and Community

Alongside the main platform, I launched the Ballistics.Systems Blog:

https://blog.ballistics.systems

This blog is where We’ll share:

  • Project updates
  • Deep dives into ballistics concepts
  • Data-modeling discussions
  • Development notes and behind-the-scenes insights
  • Tutorials and guides for shooters and reloaders

The goal is to create an open, educational resource — something that bridges the gap between technical ballistics and real-world application.

And because the blog now mirrors the look, structure, and navigation of the main site, everything feels cohesive.

What’s Coming Next

Launching today is only the beginning.

Over the next several weeks, I’ll be expanding the platform in focused, high-impact steps:

Next Major Feature: Ladder Test Tool

A modern Satterlee-style load development environment with:

  • Charting
  • Trend analysis
  • Multi-charge comparison
  • Saved profiles (for members)
  • Printable PDF output (coming soon)

PDF Reporting

Professional-grade, printable reports starting with Twist Rate:

  • Engineered templates built in Illustrator
  • Embedded custom fonts
  • Fixed geometry for clean printing
  • Optional QR codes linking back to each calculation

Membership Features

Planned for the coming months:

  • Save and revisit past calculations
  • Create personal ballistic profiles
  • Organize data for different rifles and loads
  • Access premium reporting and advanced analysis tools
  • Early adopter pricing at an accessible level

The roadmap is ambitious but structured — each new tool extends the platform’s capabilities without compromising clarity or quality.

A Big Thank You

Launching Ballistics.Systems has been an incredibly rewarding challenge. Every detail — from the architecture to the UX to the math — has been built with care, precision, and a deep respect for the shooting community.

If you’re here reading this, thank you for taking an interest in the project.

There’s a lot more to come, and I’m looking forward to sharing each step along the way.

If you’d like to stay updated on new tools, features, or releases, you can subscribe through the form in the site footer — or reach out directly with ideas and requests.

Ballistics.Systems is live. Let’s build something exceptional.
